And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Yet these say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
