The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
