The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
