Elucidated (Fussilat)
54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working. 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
