Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
