Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
