Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
