Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
