The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
