The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created the human 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
