The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
