(Muhammad), remember the morning when you left home to show the believers their position in the battle? God is All-hearing and All-knowing. 121 when two groups from among you were about to lose heart, although God was near unto them and it is in God that the believers must place their trust: 122 And Allah most assuredly helped you at Badr when you were humiliated. Therefore, fear Allah, in order that you will give thanks to Him. 123 And Recall what time thou saidst to the believers: sufficieth it not unto you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down. 124 "Yes, if you hold on to patience and piety, and the enemy comes rushing at you; your Lord will help you with five thousand angels having marks (of distinction)." 125 The sending of the angels is a glad news from your Lord so that you would have more confidence in Him. No victory is real unless it is from God, the Majestic and All-wise. 126 In order that He may cut off a part of unbelievers or overthrow them, and they turn back in frustration. 127 You have no say in this affair to decide whether He will relent towards them or He will punish them: they are wrongdoers. 128 To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and punisheth whom He pleaseth; but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 129
