Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not? 100 These towns-- We relate to you some of their stories, and certainly their apostles came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they rejected at first; thus does Allah set a seal over the hearts of the unbelievers 101 and in most of them We found no [inner] bond with anything that is right - and most of them We found to be iniquitous indeed. 102 After them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs. But they willfully rejected them. Consider the end of the evil-doers. 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 [Who is] obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel." 105 Said he, 'If thou hast brought a sign, produce it, if thou speakest truly.' 106 Then [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick and behold! it was a serpent, manifest! 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
