Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
