Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
