۞ It was He who created you from a single soul, and from it made its mate so that he may find comfort in her. Once he has covered her, she conceives and goes about with a light burden. When it grows heavy, they both call to God, their Lord, "If You bestow on us a healthy child, we will surely be grateful," 189 But when He gave them a Salih (good in every aspect) child, they ascribed partners to Him (Allah) in that which He has given to them. High be Allah, Exalted above all that they ascribe as partners to Him. (Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 9, Page 148). 190 What! they associate (with Him) that which does not create any thing, while they are themselves created! 191 They cannot help them, nor can they help themselves. 192 If you call them to guidance they will not follow you. It is all the same if you call them or hold your tongue. 193 Verily those whom ye call upon besides Allah are servants like unto you: Call upon them, and let them listen to your prayer, if ye are (indeed) truthful! 194 Do they have feet to walk with? Or have they hands to hold with? Or have they eyes to see with? Or have they ears to hear with? Say, “Call upon your ascribed partners and conspire against me, and do not give me respite.” 195 Indeed, my protector is Allah, who has sent down the Book; and He is an ally to the righteous. 196 "But those ye call upon besides Him, are unable to help you, and indeed to help themselves." 197 And if you call them to guidance, they hear not and you will see them looking at you, yet they see not. 198 Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; But turn away from the ignorant. 199 And if a slander from the devil wound thee, then seek refuge in Allah. Lo! He is Hearer, Knower. 200 When a satanic thought starts to bother the pious ones, they understand and see the light 201 And their brothers, they prolong them in error, and they will never stop. 202 And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it? Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord. This (Qur'an) is insight from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe. 203 And when the Qur'an is recited, give ear to it and pay heed, that ye may obtain mercy. 204 And do thou (O Muhammad) remember thy Lord within thyself humbly and with awe, below thy breath, at morn and evening. And be not thou of the neglectful. 205 Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate. ۩ 206
