The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 a written record, 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
