The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
