And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 And We saved them and their people from the great distress; 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 and guided them in the straight path, 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Verily! They were two of Our believing slaves. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” – 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 They denied him, and will surely be brought to punishment, 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
