To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion." 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold fast to all that has been revealed to thee: for, behold, thou art on a straight way; 43 And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. 44 Inquire of apostles We had sent before you if We appointed gods to be worshipped other than Ar-Rahman. 45
