The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And the swollen sea 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 and so God has graced us with His favour, and has warded off from us all suffering through the scorching winds [of frustration]. 27 before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
