The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He who has sent down the Criterion to His worshiper (Prophet Muhammad), that he is a warner to all mankind; 1 He to whom the dominion over the heavens and the earth belongs, and who begets no offspring, and has no partner in His dominion: for it is He who creates every thing and determines its nature in accordance with [His own] design. 2 Yet the people have set up, besides Him, deities, who do not create anything but are themselves created: who can neither harm nor help even themselves: who have no power over life or death, nor can they raise up the dead. 3 Those who deny the truth say, "This is only a forgery of his own invention in which others have helped him." What they say is unjust and false. 4 And they say, "Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon." 5 Say: He has revealed it Who knows the secret in the heavens and the earth; surely He is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 6 They say, "What kind of a messenger is this who eats food and walks about in the market-places? Why has no angel been sent down with him to warn us?" 7 "Or (Why) has not a treasure been bestowed on him, or why has he (not) a garden for enjoyment?" The wicked say: "Ye follow none other than a man bewitched." 8 See what kinds of comparisons they make for thee! But they have gone astray, and never a way will they be able to find! 9
