O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and wives of the believers that they should draw over themselves some of their outer garments [when in public], so as to be recognized and not harmed. God is most forgiving and most merciful. 59 ۞ If the hypocrites and those who have tainted hearts and the scandal mongers of Madinah do not desist, We shall surely give you authority over them and their days in that city will be numbered. 60 Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter. 61 (Such was) the practice (approved) of Allah among those who lived aforetime: No change wilt thou find in the practice (approved) of Allah. 62 Men ask thee of the Hour. Say: The knowledge of it is with Allah only. What can convey (the knowledge) unto thee? It may be that the Hour is nigh. 63 Verily God has cursed the infidels, and prepared a blazing fire for them. 64 Abiders therein they shall be forever, and they shall find neither a protecting friend nor a helper. 65 The day their faces would be turned on the fire (as on a spit), they will say: "Alas! If only we had obeyed God, and obeyed the Prophet." 66 And they shall say: 'Our Lord, We obeyed our masters and our eminent ones, but they misled us from the way. 67 "Our Lord! Give them double Penalty and curse them with a very great Curse!" 68
