Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
