The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
