Al-A 'araaf 2 of 24
And certainly We created you, then We fashioned you, then We said to the angels: Prostrate to Adam. So they did prostrate except Iblis; he was not of those who prostrated. 11 [Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay." 12 He said: Then go down hence! It is not for thee to show pride here, so go forth! Lo! thou art of those degraded. 13 Satan replied: 'Give me respite till the Day they shall be raised.' 14 He said: Surely you are of the respited ones. 15 He said: As Thou hast caused me to remain disappointed I will certainly lie in wait for them in Thy straight path. 16 Then surely I will come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right and from their left, and Thou shalt not find the most of them thankful. 17 (Allah) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all. 18 "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as ye wish: but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression." 19 But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal." 20 And he swore unto them, "Verily, I am of those who wish you well indeed!" 21 So he led them on by delusion; and when they tasted the tree, their shameful parts revealed to them, so they took to stitching upon themselves leaves of the Garden. And their Lord called to them, 'Did not I prohibit you from this tree, and say to you, "Verily Satan is for you a manifest foe"?' 22 They said: Our Lord! We have been unjust to ourselves, and if Thou forgive us not, and have (not) mercy on us, we shall certainly be of the losers. 23 (Allah) said: "Get ye down. With enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood,- for a time." 24 He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth." 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
