Believers, obey God and His Messengers and do not turn away from Him when you hear (His commands). 20 Do not be like those who said that they have heard (the Messenger's commands) but do not pay any attention to them. 21 ۞ the worst creatures in God's eyes are those who are deaf and dumb, and who possess no understanding. 22 And had Allah known in them any good He would surely, have made them hear; but (being as they, are) even if He made them hear, they would have surely turned away in aversion. 23 Believers, obey God and the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. Know that God stands between man and his heart, and you shall all be gathered in His presence. 24 And beware of an affliction that will not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. Know that God is severe in exacting retribution. 25 And remember when you were only a few and meek in the land, and feared that men may snatch you away – He therefore gave you refuge and strengthened you with His help, and gave you good things as sustenance, so that you may be thankful. 26 O you who believe! Betray not Allah and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amanat (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allah has ordained for you). 27 Know that your wealth and children are a trial and that there is an immense reward with God. 28
