The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
