The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
