The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
