Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
