(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
