Nay! By the moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to humans, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
