The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 Created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
