AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and clearly tell the unbelievers: "I am most certainly a plain warner," 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
