In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
