The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
