And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
