(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
