Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 and the severally severing 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
