Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
