The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), glorify the Name of your lord, the Most High, 1 who creates [every thing,] and thereupon forms it in accordance with what it is meant to be, 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 who brought forth the pasturage 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We shall make thee recite, to forget not 6 Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them). 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 he who [in the life to come] shall have to endure the great fire 12 where he will neither die nor live. 13 Lasting happiness will be for those who purify themselves, 14 and remembers his Sustainer's name, and prays [unto Him]. 15 But no, you prefer the life of the world, 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Surely, this is in the ancient Scrolls, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
