We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And helped them so that they became the victors. 116 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, 117 And showed them the right path. 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 AND, BEHOLD, Elijah [too] was indeed one of Our message-bearers 123 When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 God your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 129 Peace be unto Elias! 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 When We rescued him and his entire household. 134 save an old woman among those that tarried; 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by (their habitations) in the morning 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
