Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
