Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
