Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains. 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord: 36 And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.), and when they are angry, they forgive 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 and the recompense of evil is evil the like of it; but whoso pardons and puts things right, his wage falls upon God; surely He loves not the evildoers. 40 If one avenges himself after he has been wronged, there is no way of blaming him. 41 Only those who do injustice to people and commit rebellion on earth for no reason will be questioned. They will suffer a painful torment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
