Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known calculated term. 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
