The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 The mountains made to move, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
