Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
