Samood rejected the warning. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 “And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; only those may come whose turn it is.” 28 In response they called their companion – he therefore caught and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 Behold, We sent a single Blast against them, and they became like the trampled twigs of a sheep pen-builder. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our assault but they disputed the warnings. 36 They lusted after his guests, so We put out their eyes (and said): "Taste My punishment and My commination." 37 And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning. 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40
